On 30–31 March 2026, Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFHV) brought colleagues together for an energizing two‑day journey of reflection, collaboration, and inspiration, reaffirming our shared commitment to Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
Combining a GEDSI Co‑creation Workshop with a Practical Application session, the activities created meaningful space for connection across teams—celebrating progress, strengthening shared understanding, and turning inclusive values into everyday practice.

A Shared Space for Learning and Collaboration
The events welcomed HFHV leaders, program and project staff, technical colleagues, and support teams, with representatives from across departments. This diverse participation reflected a strong belief that GEDSI is everyone’s responsibility—not limited to any single role, project, or function.
The agenda was designed to be engaging and inclusive, inviting participants to contribute ideas, experiences, and reflections in an open, respectful environment. Through interactive discussions and group activities, colleagues were encouraged to listen deeply, learn from one another, and co‑create a shared vision for inclusion at HFHV.

What We Set Out to Achieve
Across the two days, HFHV focused on more than discussion—we focused on purpose and direction. Together, participants aimed to:
- Celebrate how far we have come in integrating GEDSI into our projects and ways of working;
- Build a common understanding of what GEDSI looks like in action, not just on paper;
- Identify shared priorities to strengthen equity, accessibility, and inclusion across programs and internal systems;
- Reconnect with our mission, especially as HFHV reflects on its 25‑year journey in Vietnam.
The emphasis was clear: GEDSI is not an abstract concept, but a living commitment that shows up in our decisions, behaviors, and partnerships with communities.

Staff teams practiced building house models accommodating realistic needs within a Vietnamese household.
These conversations highlighted that GEDSI is not something new—it is already embedded in HFHV’s projects and continues to grow through intentional action and shared accountability.
Looking Forward with Purpose
The two days concluded with a strong sense of momentum and collective ownership. Insights and ideas from the activities will inform the ongoing development of the HFHV GEDSI Program Framework (Vietnam Edition) and guide future efforts across programs and operations.
By creating space to reflect, co‑create, and inspire one another, HFHV continues to strengthen its commitment to inclusive, equitable housing and resilient communities—where everyone belongs.
