A colorful day to remember for DOW Chemical team in Long An province

On September 29, 2015, Habitat for Humanity Vietnam has welcome a team from Dow Chemical Int’l Ltd Rep. Office in Vietnam to help build 2 homes for vulnerable families in Tan An city, Long An province.

Meeting between the team and local authorities before building

The DOW Chemical Vietnam team divided into 2 groups to help family of Mr. Tran Van Tien and family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung repair and paint windows and doors for their new houses. It may not be a huge workload but even big or small, the team hope to give a hand to help poor families and also join them in the happiness of having new, decent homes.

Before paiting an old window for the new home

Having a new home has long been dreams for both families Mr. Tien and Mr. Hung as their house were old and rotten without toilets or bathrooms. They all face difficulties in daily life with low and unstable income. Even worse, Mr. Hung’s youngest son, Cuong has to suffer from elephantiasis disease and Mr. Hung himself can’t walk or move after a serious accident several years ago.

Dow Chemical’s representative and the home-partner

The activity is part of a joint partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Dow Chemical in which Dow donates around US$16,000 to build 3 new homes for poor families in Long An province so that they can have a decent home to live. In recent years, Dow Chemical has go hands in hands with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam in building homes, communities and hope.
