Habitat Vietnam recognized by Dong Nai for community development efforts

Habitat Vietnam has been acknowledged by Dong Nai authorities for its contributions to improving housing, sanitation, and community infrastructure through two major projects supporting vulnerable families.

Dong Nai, December 18, 2025 – At the Conference On Reviewing The National Program On Foreign Non-Governmental Aid Mobilization And Cooperation Promotion In Dong Nai Province For The 2019-2025 Period, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai awarded Habitat for Humanity International in Vietnam (Habitat Vietnam) a Certificate of Merit for its outstanding contributions to improving living conditions for vulnerable families. This recognition reflects Habitat Vietnam’s commitment to creating safer, healthier communities through two impactful projects in the province.

The first project, Enhancing Access to Safe, Quality, and Affordable Housing for Vulnerable Groups, invested 2.3 billion VND (approximately USD 95,833) to support families in the former Phuoc Khanh and Vinh Thanh communes (now is Dai Phuoc and Phuoc An communes). The project improved housing and sanitation for 70 households, including poor and near-poor families and households with disabilities. Beyond housing repairs and new construction, the initiative upgraded a local park, improved kindergarten sanitation facilities, and introduced waste segregation equipment, creating a cleaner, healthier environment for the community.

The second project, Supporting Disadvantaged Families to Stabilize Their Lives, allocated 480 million VND (approximately USD 19,200) to help disadvantaged households in the former Nhon Trach District  ( now is Dai Phuoc Commune) stabilize their living conditions. Through housing repairs and sanitation improvements, the project contributed to poverty reduction and enhanced social stability in the area.

Together, these projects embody Habitat Vietnam’s mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. By improving housing safety, promoting environmental hygiene, and fostering sustainable practices, we have created lasting positive impacts for vulnerable families, better living conditions, improved health, and stronger community resilience. Beyond physical improvements, our work has advanced environmental awareness, encouraged self-reliance, and strengthened humanitarian values and international cooperation. Our projects in Dong Nai have been acknowledged for creating positive and lasting impacts for the communities we serve.
