Volunteer Program Habitat facilitates a number of volunteering opportunities through our Volunteer Programs which is designed to; raise awareness of the constant need for housing solutions in Vietnam; foster and promote individual and community volunteerism; and involve local and international communities in supporting solutions that serve to address the shortage of safe and decent shelter.   The Volunteer Programs coordinates various components includingGlobal Village - provides everyone an opportunity to not only see firsthand the work that Habitat is doing, but actually participate and experience the reality of inadequate housing in Vietnam.  Participants come to Vietnam from any number of international countries to help an underprivileged family achieve safe and decent shelter by providing the necessary 'muscle' and physical labor required to build a house.  The experience can range from 2 days to 2 weeks and includes a unique opportunity to engage with a local community, experience a culture, learn more about the impact of inadequate housing and make an immediate difference in somebody's life.Interns and Individuals – Habitat provides short and long term professional volunteering opportunities for individuals whom can contribute to the increased capacity of the organization including but not limited to, technical services (architectural / engineering advice and services), operational (administration support, business support and development, interpreting or translation).  Habitat attracts domestic and expatriate volunteers, and has also created partnerships with Universities and other institutions that place students whom can apply theoretical skills in practice.  Habitat provides professional development and support to all out volunteers and acknowledge the significant contributions they make to the organization.Successes to date-      The first Global Village team from 4/2007-      To date, Habitat has hosted 16 international volunteers in country-      Volunteers have supported Habitat in the following; design and drafting of appropriate housing; Monitoring and Evaluation systems, graphic design; document translation.      * For any voluntary opportunity of working for HHFV, please download the Individual Registration Form from click here and send the filled form back to us.
